Donald Uttley
“The breakdown of a relationship can be an emotional and difficult time for anybody. With my many years of experience in Family Law, I advise my clients on the financial and other issues arising from their separation. When there’s a dispute, I will help my clients to resolve matters by way of an informed negotiation where possible, and by litigation if necessary.”
About
Civil Litigation Partner
I trained with Beveridge & Kellas, becoming an associate in 2010 and a partner in 2017.
I handle a broad range of civil disputes, but my particular interest is in family law. Much of my work is centred on resolving the financial and other practical issues arising from separation, including child residence and contact issues.
My aim is always to have a compassionate but pragmatic approach when advising clients.
I am an effective negotiator and will explore the option of an out-of- court settlement if that is beneficial, cost-effective, and achievable.
However, with over 20 years of experience in civil litigation, I will raise court proceedings where that is necessary to advance the interests of the client.
I regularly appear in the Sheriff Court and in addition handle Court of Session work.
